Up and down The Mall there are several Smithsonian buildings. This is were we had lunch and is now used a an information centre. The gentleman who donated the money James Smithson had never been to America but stated in his will if his nephew died with out heirs the money would then go to The USA Government to build a museum. The amount left was about $10,000,000 in 2008 dollars. This would build one of the entrance ways to one of the buildings. Without question The Smithsonian is a must see.
